There was a big turn out for the blessing of the va'a (canoes) at 7:30 am this morning including over 25 of the Team Canada athletes already in Noumea. The blessing involved prayers by a local priest and then paddlers from the various countries poured the liquid from a freshly cut coconut on the V6 and V1 canoes. Team Canada athletes Leanne Stanley and Katherine Town participated in the blessing ceremony. 
That looks like a team that is about to kick some Canadian butt! Hope all is well... and the weather looks great!
